Welcome to

Cairo Covenant School

Is a K-12th grade international Christian school located in Cairo, Egypt. The locals affectionately call Cairo “Om ed-Dunya,” which in Arabic means “Mother of the World.” Home to one of the oldest civilizations on earth, Egypt shelters a growing number of Third Culture Kids (TCK), the children of a thriving expatriate community....

Third Culture Kids are children who grow up outside their parents’ home culture (Polluck & Van Reken, 2009). At Cairo Covenant School, our dedicated faculty seeks to provide a supportive educational environment that challenges our students to impact their world for Christ.
Cairo Covenant School welcomes Christian families from many cultural and denominational backgrounds. Since 1994, the school has served families from all around the world, including countries such as Korea, Australia, Pakistan, England, Canada, the United States, Sudan, Poland, and Egypt. The rich cultural diversity among our families is one of our strengths, and it is readily felt around the school through the strong and consistent parental involvement in the CCS community.

Academics

About the school program

Cairo Covenant School is accredited by NCA CASI, NWAC, and SACS CASI, accreditation divisions of Cognia. CCS is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

CCS is governed by an educational philosophy, which holds that all truth derives from God and that the Bible is the only inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God. With this as our foundation, CCS purposes to educate students academically, culturally, and spiritually with a Christian worldview through a biblically integrated educational program, which challenges them to influence their world. The school is equipped to fulfill this mission through its teachers and staff, curriculum and other resources, and partnership with families....

The course of study is based on the American system and the teaching medium is English. Since the school is located in Cairo, the curriculum is adapted to reflect the rich Egyptian historical and cultural heritage. The program, therefore, incorporates into the regular course of study the teaching of the Arabic language as well as Egyptian and Middle Eastern culture and history. The classroom teachers follow curriculum standards created specifically for CCS, which were developed from the US national curriculum standards. The high school curriculum provides students with a challenging college preparatory program that enables students who qualify for graduation to receive an American Diploma.

ADMISSIONS

The rich cultural diversity among our students enhances the education we provide and stimulates them with a unique world perspective.
